Into the future

With the changes in commuter travel patterns since September 11 2001, Westbus is focusing on better understanding the changing transport needs of each of the distinct markets the company serves.

Timetable reviews will be undertaken on a regular basis in each of the areas in which we operate, to ensure that our services mirror the changing needs of the communities. The timetable reviews will focus on allocating resources to areas that display high demand or growth potential, as well as introducing innovative new servicing concepts such as the Movezone which aims to get people home faster from the train stations at night, whilst improving safety for both drivers and customers.
New residential housing estates and business parks will be the focus of future service planning to service bus users before they make the decision to buy a private motor vehicle.

The programme of upgrading the Westbus fleet of vehicles will continue with all new vehicles being air-conditioned low floor buses with state-of-the-art environmentally sensitive engines.
The Westbus vision of Moving more people, reliably, safely, comfortably, encompasses all that we hope to achieve over the next few years.

To this end we will continue to speak to communities, stakeholder groups and government to champion the cause of public transport for Sydney's greater West; we will continue to upgrade our training programmes to enable our employees to deliver an excellent service to all our customers; and we will continue to invest in a fleet of vehicles that will provide safe, reliable and environmentally friendly transport for all our customers.
